Biohazard cleanup covers the safe removal and disposal of any material posing a health risk – blood, bodily fluids, and other biological contamination that requires specialized handling under OSHA and state biohazard regulations, not something standard cleaning crews are equipped or certified to handle.
Property owners and families in Des Moines, NM call us after a wide range of situations – deaths, accidents, medical emergencies, or any incident that's left biological contamination behind. Sometimes the property owner makes the call directly, and sometimes it's a family member who needs the situation handled without having to face it themselves.
We start with a full assessment of the affected area to understand the scope of contamination, then contain the space to prevent it from spreading further. Contaminated material that can't be fully decontaminated gets removed and bagged following biohazard disposal protocols, while remaining surfaces are treated with EPA-registered disinfectants rated for bloodborne pathogens. We run deodorization equipment as needed to address any lingering odor once the physical cleanup is done.
Cost depends on the size of the affected area, how far contamination has spread, and whether structural material needs removal and replacement.
